Nasal Decolonisation

Several studies have shown that nasal decolonisation is effective in reducing the risk of post surgical infections caused by Staph. Aureus from the patient nose. *

These infections can lead to severe long-life morbidity and can be life threatening.

Current treatment has several weaknesses – driven by fixed treatment pre-surgery (1 week) and association with bacterial resistance. Thereby todays Standard of Care is not suitable for sub acute or acute surgery conditions.

There is a high unmet need for fast acting drug, which has low propensity for resistance development.
